Free, Prior and Informed Consent concept and it’s standards as a strategy to protect lands and conserve the environment from degradation caused by corporations within indigenous territories.

Many indigenous communities in less-industrialized countries are facing new or existing development projects while rarely have either the technical tools or information to effectively address potential impacts on human health and the environment and in many circumstances, responsible agencies are unwilling to provide the needed expertise to address their concerns. On September, 15,¬†Ngetha Media Association for Peace held engagements with the Indigenous communities of Nyamasoga in Biiso sub-county Buliisa district under our community dialogues objectively to raise awareness about the Free, Prior and Informed Consent concept and it's standards as a strategy to protect lands and conserve environment from degradations caused by corporations within indigenous territories.
